Shame on you, Google!
July 4, 2003 @ 12:48 a.m.

Yeah, so I haven't gone to bed yet, and it is now officially Independence Day here in the United States. Whilst surfing around a few random sites, I went to Google. As some of you may allready know, Google has a tennancy to change their logo to coincide with different hollidays. Naturally, I expected to see the Liberty Bell worked into their logo, or a Bald Eagle in some way, shape, or form.

Nope.

They had none of these things. Instead, they showed the Statue of Liberty. This got me thinking a bit.

Shame on you, Google. Didn't anyone tell you that the Statue of Liberty was a gift to our country from France? Furthermore, didn't anyone tell you that anything French is evil, and should never be accknowledged by a good American?

That's the rumor, anyway.

Nevermind the fact that we wouldn't be an independant country if not for France(for those of you that don't know, France offered us support in the form of both soldiers, and financial aide while we were fighting the British). Nevermind the fact that France increased the size of our country by over 100% when we bought the Louisiana Territory from them for literally under 3 cents an acre. They're evil, horrible people. They wouldn't help us level Iraq. It was imperative that we destroy Iraq's millitary and government body, after all. Look at all the horrible biological weapons they've been stockpiling to use against us. What's that, we haven't found a single one? Bah! Technicality. They have them. I know for fact because..... well I just do. Besides, where did he get the resources to make crap like that in the first place? Oh......... nevermind.

All joking aside, Saddam is a brutal, evil man. He has killed thousands of his countrymen, and tortured uncounted numbers. His attitude has always been something along the lines of: "If you are not with my regime, you are the enemy, and should be treated accordingly."

Come to think of it, didn't ol' Dubbaya say pretty much the exact same thing to the world when he addressed our nation after the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center?

Ah well, France still sucks! They totally should have been right there next to us, shooting ambulances, and bombing red cross buildings. Shame on them.

What really disgusts me, is just knowing that thousands and thousands of Americans are going to look at that statue throughout the day, and their chests are going to swell with pride. Pride in our nation. Proud of what we've accomplished. Proud of the emblem of our freedom that was given to us by a country that we now are supposed to hate.

We should tear the damn thing down, based on the attitudes that I've observed from my fellow man, and my political entities. But instead, we salute it. We feel the pride of our nation, and tears burn in our greatful eyes as we honor and cherish our national treasure.

And we never blink an eye.

Amazing, isin't it?

This rant has been thought of, and put into words by a natural born American of French ancestory, who lives in the French capital of a French founded state that was origionally part of the Louisiana(now where did that get it's name?) Territory.
